This section of the website contains information about the different locations that we are using to film and the script. We differentiated the different shots with the different locations that we are going to use. This would make filming more efficient and organised since we will be able to film the different shots for our trailer.

selfie from hell (2015)The hand held shots in this trailer (of the character) gives the effect of realism. Tension is created since the audience is waiting for the appearance of the antagonist, which is unknown to the protagonist. Since the camera shots are hand held it shows the audience that it could happen to them as well as making them aware of their surroundings.
|
Paranormal activity (2007)The location of Paranormal Activity is a modern and refurbished house in which people live in. This is an uncommon location since most supernatural films are set in an abandoned house. This gave us inspiration for our trailer since it gives it an unique selling point and would appeal more to our target audience since they are teenagers/young adults.
|
OUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL (2016)The close up shots in which the protagonists NVC is visible gave us inspiration for our trailer. This is because it's a point in the trailer in which the disequilibrium is about to happen or has already happened (in which the protagonist is reacting to). They are effective since the equilibrium shows the NVC of people that are happy compared to the disequilibrium where people look afraid.
the woman in black (2012)The different close ups of the props and setting adds an eerie atmosphere since dolls and children's toys are commonly seen in horror films. The shots in which the camera pans around the protagonist make the audience feel involved since it seems as if the protagonist is unaware that he is being filmed.
|
THE CONJURING (2013)The two shot of the protagonists gave us inspiration to follow this style. It's effective since it gives the audience information about who the protagonists are as well as their role in the film. It also gives the audience time to focus on the costume, makeup and location of where the protagonists are.
SILENT HOUSE (2012)The establishing shots and hand held camera movements gave us inspiration for our own trailer. This is because our synopsis follows the life of two women moving into a new house and documenting it. Additionally, the location is similar to ours since it is very modern yet still contains a layout in which is deemed as old fashioned and common.

We are filming on Wednesday 16th November and we will be filming at 75 Glanfield Rd, Beckenham BR3 3JT.
location #1: the living room.
Shots:
3. Panning: To show the room 4. Long shot: Protagonist setting up the camera 5. Hand held: Protagonist making a vlog 6. Wide shot: Shows the setting 7. Close up: Of the computer 8. Panning: Show the protagonist working 14. Medium shot: Camera turning around 15. Medium shot: The door has scratches and blood 16. Zoom: Show the NVC of the protagonist 17. Medium shot: Protagonist turning away from the camera 18. Medium shot: Computer playing loud music 19. Zoom: Computer malfunctioning 20. Long shot: Shadow walking past the door 24. Close up: Protagonist calling for help 26. Tilt: Lightbulb falling Lighting: The lighting will be very high key since it will be filmed during the day and will represent natural sunlight. Additionally, the focus needs to be on the protagonists throughout the equilibrium, disruption and disequilibrium. Power: The room featured a lot of plug sockets which will be useful for charging camera batteries and using lights. Since a living room has features such as a television and a lamp, it is common to have a lot of plug sockets. Space: This room featured a lot of space in which would allow for the movements of camera equipment such as tripods and lights. Camera shots such as panning and zooming will be shot in the living room. |
LOCATION #2: THE HALLWAY.
Shots:
21. Close up: The gun 22. Medium shot: Protagonist pointing the gun at the camera 23. Long shot: Protagonist holding the crucifix 25. Medium shot: Protagonist shouting for help 27. Panning: Protagonist walking to the door 28. Zoom: Show the NVC of the protagonist 29. Close up: Two hands coming towards the protagonist 30. Close up: Protagonist being attacked by the antagonist 31. Dutch: Antagonist coming towards the camera Lighting: The lighting in the hallway would be very low key since there is only one main light source. However, this will make the protagonist stand out and create an eerie atmosphere. This is because shots of the disequilibrium/attempts to resolve this will be filmed here. Power: There are a number of power sockets available in case we needed additional lighting. Space: The spacing in the hallway was very small since it was narrow. This meaning that moving lights and a tripod would be time consuming and difficult. Camera shots such as close ups and medium shots will be shot in the hallway. |
location #3: the kitchen.
Shots:
9. Two shot: Protagonists sitting at the table 10. Medium shot: Show the protagonists talking 11. Zoom: On the protagonist 12. Medium shot: Door slamming 13. High angle: Crucifix Lighting: The lighting is very high key in this room since there is natural sunlight coming through the door as well as having additional lights. There was also one light in the kitchen meaning we could have control over how high or low key the lighting would be. Power: There was limited power sockets in this room. The ones that were available were on work surfaces. This meaning that they may be seen on the different shots that we take, which would be inconvenient and make our trailer look unrealistic. Space: The spacing in the kitchen was small since it was narrow. This meaning that moving lights and a tripod would be time consuming and difficult. Camera shots such as a high angle and medium shots will be filmed in the kitchen. |
LOCATION #4: OUTSIDE.
Shots:
1. Establishing shot: Introducing the location 2. Medium shot: Of the sign Lighting: For scenes that were filmed outside, we had no control over how low or high key the lighting would be. This making it difficult to film certain shots since shadows may be present or the lighting may be inconsistent. Nevertheless, since we only needed two shots outside this was not a problem for us. This is because we would film the shots one after the other. Power: There was no power sockets outside of the location. If power was needed then an extension cord would be used so that power can be supplied for additional lights. Space: There was a lot of space, which included the driveway and the road connecting to the house. This would be useful for filming an establishing shot using a dolly since a lot of space is needed for the equipment. |
The location recce contains information about the location we were shooting at: the reason we are going there and the facilities available. The kit list features the equipment that we will be using on the day as well as making sure that all equipment is returned.
These video logs are us talking about pre-production and post-production in which we discuss our progress. We talk about the production as a group but we then individually talk about the tasks we had been assigned (how we found them and what they had consisted of).
